マッキ: はにゃ?

桜何とか: えぇぇぇぇ?! うそ!

マッキ: 桜何とか, what does it say?

桜何とか: it says... "friends-only journal"...

マッキ: 何? こんヤロゥ! 何やっちゃのお前?!

桜何とか: 待って! there's more!

マッキ: what does it say?

桜何とか: it says that most fangirl entries will remain public. but personal entries are definitely f-locked. people can leave a comment if they want to add nagi-chan, and if they want her to friend them back. 分かった、マッキ?

マッキ: なるほどね。。。 hey, you guys, do as she says, okay, and nobody will get hurt by tornado makio

桜何とか: no need to be so harsh, マッキ. i think they got it as well. ^_^

I watched AAA 2008 DVD (which is agreat concert, btw... makes me want the DVD itself all the more) and when I got to the part in the Arashi's Fight in Kokuritsu clip where they showed the recording process of Re(mark)able, Sho walked in the studio with his laptop bag and I screamed.

We both have the same laptop bag!!

Let me show you it:

So Sho enters the studio with his laptop...

Next, they show him with his laptop in front of him and the bag beside it.

See? It's the same!!!

Black band and the gray/silver print on the lower corner... Yes / YES? :D:D Mine only looks brighter because of the lighting. XDD

(Forgive me, I was just simply thrilled by it XD)

no matter where you are, no matter when
look up to the same sky
gather the light because i want to reach it
forevermore
i don't want to forget this fleeting shadow of passion

i write down all the thoughts i am strongly feeling deep within me
i wanted to express them so many times
but they're just written words
i am painting the moment like a constellation floating far away
i go round and round, silently asked a question
tell me why? take me faraway

it's been a while now, but this song is still on my song for now corner... and i don't see it going away anytime soon... ^___^

i didn't get to watch the following as they were airing:

- himitsu no arashi-chan - which was love considering aiba and nino did child minder arashi... you can't even tell who's the kid between aiba and yuuto. so cute... and lol about the hanshin tigers theme song (>_<) hahahaha... and the game segment after... it kind of reminded me of smap x smap (which i wasn't able to watch, as well, demn) and lol about riida = plasma tv though i don't think there's some truth to riida being 40Kg... that's just insane...

- maou ep 4 - must. watch.

- HSJ on MS - they seriously are talented... still in a more-hate-than-love stand with takaki yuya. but the girl who sang the ponyo theme song was so cute when she said that she likes yamada ryousuke (who's also cute) and when she was told that he was watching her reaction was sooo cute... ack... i know i was against them from the start, but watching them more makes me appreciate them more to the point that i think am starting to like the group now... *hides from [info]such_sweet_girl*... i know i must stop watching them for my sanity... but, just out of curiosity, can anybody point me to dl links to their files? *cries* please note that i am serious (>_<)

- vs arashi - well, just the ending... sho is always being bullied... i feel sorry for him but at the same time am laughing my ass off... hahaha...

- - -

the reason i wasn't able to watch is that people are already starting to leave one-by-one, and there are lots of celebrations and stuff like that. i also had a JE karaoke fest last friday with [info]such_sweet_girl and our friend, yumi. never sang so much JE songs in my life in 3 hours (>_<) hahaha it was fun, though. ^__^

and i also got distracted with tennis no ouji-sama: gakuensai no ouji-sama game. and demmit!! i didn't get the good sanada ending!!! *cries* why, oh why?!?!?! *cries* he was sooo hawt as oda nobunaga, though (>_<) hahah now i want to write a fic about the gakuensai (>_<) but first, i must read through the manga. hahaha

- - -

and omg!!! ROOKIES IS FAR FROM OVER!!!! *throws confetti*

a 2-hour special in autumn plus a movie in spring!!!

i love you, TBS!!!!! *cries*

this means more icchi and sato takeru for me!!! *beams*

I. CAN'T. WAIT!!!!

yes, it's that ballad nino sang.

it's kind of funny how i only pay close attention to lyrics recently. but am glad i paid attention to this one. i knew it was a really wonderful song. but closely listening to the lyrics made me love it more that i wanted to cry (>_<)

and yes, i was crazy enough to translate it (>_<)

to the person i love, no matter what happens in this lifetime - ninomiya kazunari

on the other end of the receiver
you're crying

i said that i wouldn't care if we make enemies of the people of the world
but i couldn't even protect your smile
what am i supposed to do?

did i hold you with this sad lie called love?
if i think of that, tears brim over and i can't see you

things we want to do don't turn out well
it couldn't be helped, i sink down
"be troubled, be lost, cry, it's okay
because i'll be there to engulf you during that time"
yet you looked like you are just about to softly fly, so you said this to me (1)
"i'll always hold your hand
please always hold mine"

did i hold you with this sad lie called love?
if i think of that, tears brim over and i can't see you

when i'm alone, i frequently ponder:
what if you suddenly disappear from before me?
i'm scared that i may completely forget you
so please stay by my side
yet your heart looks like it would break into pieces, so you said this to me
"I'll always hold you,
please always try to laugh only with me"

if the two of us can be together,
then we won't need anything else

notes:
1. as i don't have the actual lyrics, i just translated the song by listening to it. and there's parts in the chorus that seems like there's a conversation, but i can't really tell how it goes because all throughout the song nino uses "boku" and "kimi", and girls don't usually use that.

am not sure if anybody is going to use this, but if you are, then at least put the credit where it is due ^__^ that's all am asking :D

edit!
apparently, sensei corrected my essay a little bit further and i only noticed it now (>_<)

kajikawa-sensei, my nihongo sensei, wanted us, in our own way, to find out what the contemporary japanese heart is based on materials depicting the concept of giri and ninjou--a history video about minamoto yoritomo, an edo-era samurai movie oni no tsume, and a reading about gratitude words in contemporary society.

my essay was short, but sensei told me that she liked what i said, and that she thought it was interesting. so i suddenly had the courage to post it here on my blog.

translation:
how can you explain the modern "japanese heart"?

when you say japanese heart, the only thing that comes to mind is the samurai spirit. and when you say the samurai spirit, giri ninjou comes to mind. giri ninjou is originally from yoritomo's go-on (favor) and houkou (duty to that favor). that was in the kamakura period when the warriors lay their lives in battles in return for the favor they received from yoritomo. on the other hand, in the edo period, the samurais lay their lives with harakiri to protect their pride, other people, and such things.

sure, the japanese in the modern period still gives importance to the giri and ninjou of old. but i don't think that they give importance to it to the point of putting their lives on the line. maybe, the modern japanese do not want to make war. that is maybe why they came to have the "holding something dear but not putting one's life on the line" way of thinking instead of "holding something dear by putting one's life on the line".

a brief note on giri and ninjou: (taken from the note i left at the bipuro blog)
the "samurai spirit" is composed of giri (morals/obligations) and ninjou (human feelings/empathy). this ideology dates back to the kamakura period (the beginning of the shogunate in 1192). although the japanese at present still have the "samurai spirit", it is said that only the yakuza actually live by it.

a brief note on harakiri:
the reason why samurais are asked to commit seppuku or harakiri is that the samurais believe that if you are innocent, then your insides are white (clean). so to prove that their insides are white, and not black (dirty), they cut their bellies open.

i love my japanese class :D

now that i look at it again, my essay sounds way better in japanese XD hahaha

i just started watching remote and ushi ni negai wo: love and farm...

i just don't know when to stop...

but then, who could resist rugged and bespectacled tamayama tetsuji?

i know i can't (>_<)

note, though, that tamayama tetsuji is not in remote. doumoto kouichi and tamaki hiroshi are, though XD

okay... must go to sleep now. i still have a kanji test tomorrow and my hands are tired from practicing them for over an hour (>_<)

i watched haikei, chichiue-sama in two days. am not sure if it's because i was procrastinating or i just had nothing to do (mostly the former, i'd assume) so i went on a dorama frenzy and watched this one.

the dorama took me completely by surprise because i thought that it was a heart-warming story. apparently, it wasn't (>_<) but even if it wasn't what i had expected, i loved it. the theme is probably one that well embodies the paradox of the present japanese society's attitude towards the changing times--preserving tradition and keeping history alive versus following the flow and be part of the modern times.

the setting reminded me a lot of osen, but the story and the plot is far more complex than that of osen's. haikei, chichiue-sama has more politics and is more deep in its theme. i guess it's because the motives behind the doramas are different. whereas osen gives highlight to the aesthetics of japanese cuisine in particular and history and tradition in general, haikei, chichiue-sama focuses more on the fact that these are being threatened.

to be honest, i was depressed after watching haikei. the history-lover in me just thought it sad that places with histories being torn down to make way for modernity. but i guess that's what the story wants us to reflect on.

i'd been wanting to watch this one because of nino, and i'm happy that he delivered well. i especially loved his voice overs because of the emotion he puts into it. when ippei's happy, you could actually feel his happiness through his voicw. when he's nervous, you could hear it from his voice. it was so funny, especially when, at one point, he was whispering. gosh, i really love nino XDDD

the whole cast did a good job, methinks. and the staff, too. all in all, this is one very nice dorama. and you don't really have to be a nino fan to appreciate it. ^__^

and since i've been wanting to see more of tamayama tetsuji, i went and downloaded rockers raw.

i'm still at the first half of the movie, but i wanted to make a few comments.

yappa... this guy is one of my loves... )

ack, i can't understand much from the raw because of the dialect XD hahaha

edit!!
finished it... though it went by too quickly, i enjoyed it nonetheless. tamaki hiroshi for the win!! hahaha sorry, am just babbling here

you are everything to me

arashi's performance at music station was just wonderful!

they didn't dance much, but i loved their hand movements. nino just killed me when he was singing the chorus and the camera focused on him... like. he. killed. me. or rendered me into a squealing fangirl goo for a while XD whichever you prefer. aiba didn't stand out much which is sad, methinks. riida was asked at the start about his fishing (if i remember correctly). jun did a good job with the solo chorus at the end of the bridge. and sho was put in the hot seat somewhat because of the 30m balloon stint at the tokyo dome.

at the end:

jun: what will you from now on? (regarding the sapporo dome concert)
sho: i'll consult about it with myself.
me: *lol*

ayaka sang for today. i so love her voice. it's so powerful, it just amazes me everytime.

and uverworld! although their performance wasn't as good as the one in music fighter, i was giggling a lot since takuya∞ did the mic flip thing twice :D hahaha

next week is a 2-hour special, and they have arashi over again. *throws confetti*

- - -

got the phoenix wright chapter one from bam-senpai. it's his way of saying "get a DS Lite already, will you?!" hehehe XD

thanks, senpai! will read it in a bit.

oh! and i got the slam dunk: ten days after from [info]summerdrummer. it's a set of strips showing what most of the people are doing 10 days after the last scene from the manga. it was nice and funny. gosh, i so love that series.

i just finished last friends...

honestly, i don't know what to think of the ending. though it went well in my opinion, i guess all that pent-up angst from the previous episodes just made me feel empty after watching the last one.

sousuke, what happened to you? like seriously?! sweet guy to bastard, eh? but that letter in the end made me feel better towards you.

and that montage scene near the end with the bike, the plate and the truck just made me hold my breath that it hurt. like i knew something would happen, but they just had to suspend it. weh.

ah... i know i'm just babbling right until this point, but i now know why i feel empty after this series.

i guess it's because i didn't feel an impact from the finale. it just... ended.

hehe... oh well. kudos to the cast and staff of last friends. it was still a nice ride :D though i won't go on it again for a while.

and good thing there's only a few summer dramas that caught my attention. this means i'll have more time to catch up with my to-watch/read/do list.
